Gail Shields and Karen Shinn are the ORIGINAL Downsizing Divas! They are Certified Professional Consultants on Aging; Circle of Service Members of NASMM – National Association of Senior Move Managers and a Gold Leaf Member of POC – Professional Organizers in Canada.
At BFM, volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our organization. Thrift Store volunteers are made up of all ages and denominations, and their contributions vary anywhere from a couple hours a week to full-time participation. We aim to create a place where volunteers feel in community with one another and a place where people enjoy coming to help us in our mission. We also hope that our volunteers serve the local people with dignity and respect.

Community Service Movers
Community Service Movers provides a cost effective moving service to individual families, men, women, seniors and youth. If you’re leaving a shelter, moving from a home or an Apartment, transporting your personal items from storage or storing your items temporarily, we will move it. Most of our clients are not able to pay the regular moving cost to move therefore, we provide a cost effective moving service to these families who have only limited income resources.

The Canada Post Community Foundation aims to help community groups deliver a difference in the lives of children in communities across Canada. The Mississauga Furniture Bank received a Canada Post Community Foundation Grant in 2017 for our “HOME OF MY OWN PROJECT” to help youth in the community acquire furniture for their first home including a new bed!
